So recently, I reposted a quote on my social media pages that I had posted six years ago, and may have posted a time before that.  The quote was by one of the Delany Sister’s.

It read,  “I thought I could change the world.  It took me a hundred years to figure out I can’t change the world.  I can only change Bessie.  And honey, that ain’t easy either.” – Bessie Delany

Well I haven’t lived a hundred years yet, but I definitely feel where Sister Bessie was coming from and have learned that change must occur inside oneself before it can manifest out into the world.

I also love other quotes and sayings like: “Be the change you want to see in the world”, “Change your thoughts and you will change your world”, and “Be gentle with yourself.”

The world can be changed when we start looking in the mirror at our own selves, in our own hearts, so our minds and actions will realign with the creative mind of our Creator.   The creative mind of Love, self-love, love for others and love for the entire planet.

As Bessie figured out, and I agree, making that change ain’t easy, but I know for sure it is necessary.

So, starting today will you look in the mirror, look in your heart and see and feel where you will make the change within yourself …the change that will change the world for the way it was created to be.

The change can start by noticing your breath, the beautiful in and the beautiful out breaths that lead us to our souls.  The change may be the process of forgiveness of oneself, or toward others.

Whatever change you decide to make today; remember to be gentle with yourself and with the process.

Until the next time, enjoy being the change in the world.

Soulfully Speaking,
